5 Magento Ecommerce Cloud Features, Magento Cloud Configuration

5 Magento Ecommerce Cloud Features, Magento Cloud Configuration:- Magento has released its Commerce cloud offering approximate 2 years ago in 2016. Since then, Almost 500 customers has signed up for Magento’s Cloud and more than 150 online stores have already gone live. We have seen amazing adoption in our cloud service platform & today approx 50% of new customers are choosing to deploy on Magento’s cloud instead of choosing any third party infrastructure providers.

After this much growth still our product & engineering teams have been attentively listening feedback from the customers & working continuously to improve it. Here we are going to highlight 5 most important recent changes in the magento cloud feature.

  1. New ECE-Tools Package to Manage & Deploy Stores:-

Recently Magento has launched an ece-tool package to provide a truly mature & scalable deployment tool that              improves with customer needs. In Feb 2018,  Magento has deprecated  cloud configuration & ece-patches                      packages & offers a path for prior Magento versions to run with the ece-tool package.

  1. Increased Speed of Production deployment:-

The time length in which a site goes to maintenance mode when deploying a production site depends on total                size of website and changes made during that deployment, but the main factor being the size of static content                like images, javascript, videos, css and even entire web pages.

  1. Seamless Production Deployment & Configuration Workflow:- When Magento first launched cloud, developers must have to use3 separate git repos to manage the integration, staging & production environments and these staging/production environments are not present through the cloud UI or CLI. That means it offers development in integration environments, developers had to push a separate repo of production which create friction in the deployment process. In addition, many configurations & management options for staging/production environments manual work from the support team of magento.
  2. Simplified Build/Deploy Process Management:-

When Magento launched cloud, developers require to add some variables of project level using Web UI to                     manage the deploy/build process. In Jan 2018 the  .magento.env.yaml file is introduced which stores the                      configuration for build/deploy process. Now the Magento Developers can configure any phase of deployment              process like Global, Deploy, Build, Post_deploy.

  1. Performance Boost:- Recently a new feature is also revealed in Magento that allows pro customers to access the capacity of all available three nodes on pro production environments for MariaDB & Redis. With this enabled feature, all the operations will write to single node, while the read operation is balanced between the 3 nodes. When this feature is enabled it provides  a significant performance boost.
