Add a Search Bar to WordPress Menu
- Firstly you need to install Ivory Search plugin and activate it. After activation, you need to go Ivory search >> Search Forms page to create a new form.
- Now, The plugin automatically added the default search form, you can review plugin’s setting and add it to your WordPress Menu. The plugin automatically adds the default search form, so you can quickly review its settings and add it to your WordPress menu.
- Search setting of WordPress Menu allows you to select which content on your website should be included in the website search. Here you can see four menu that we will discuss below:-
- The include section gives you option to choose which post types, posts, page, category, custom fields, etc. should be included in the search query. Now you need to review the option and click the save Form button.
- Here you can see the “Excludes” section, which let’s you define the content which you don’t want to show in search results. Now click the save form button again to store you settings. Next, there is the ‘Excludes’ section, which lets you define the content that you don’t want to show in search results. Once done, click the Save Form button again to store your settings.

After all the process the next step is to add the search to your navigation menu. You can go to Ivory Search >> Settings page to configure the search bar to your WordPress menu.
Now you can see the ‘Select Menu’ tab. Here you can simply added the toggle menu where you would like to add the search bar.
Now you can check it again. If you are comfortable with your settings then make sure save it. After that, you can see the search bar on you WordPress navigation menu.
