Understanding “Classic” Blocks:
If you have installed WordPress before releasing of 5.0 version, then your pages & posts content might be using old classic editor.
When you upgrade your WordPress to version 5.0 or above, all old posts & pages still needs to edit. That means while you update WordPress version, then it will automatically put your content of those posts & pages inside a single “Classic” block.
Still these posts look same on the front-end of your site even if you don’t edit or convert the content blocks.
However, if you wish you can convert them from single content block into new multi-block format used by block editor.
Classic block contains all the content like as images, texts, embed and more. You can go through any old posts on your website to check how the old classic content block looks.
If you select the block by tap on it, you will see the block type. This may appears above the block in top left-hand corner and also in right hand side in block settings.
You can make edits to content in classic block. Though, most users want to update their old posts to new block format for ease of edits.
To convert an separate classic block into new Gutenberg block, Click on “more options” and then tap on “Convert to Blocks”. Then your post will be converted to separate blocks.
The Process is straightforward and quick for single post. However, WordPress doesn’t have in-built feature to do this automatically for all posts.

Bulk Convert Classic Content Block to Gutenberg Block:
Firstly Install and activate Bulk Block Converter plugin. After successful activation, Go to Tools>> Block Conversion in WordPress dashboard.
To Start with, Click on “Scan Content” button and then converter will search for all the content that is ready for conversion.
If you wish to convert all your website content at once, then simply click on “Bulk Convert All” at the top of screen.
You’ll see a warning popup. Go ahead and click on “OK” to continue. If you don’t want to convert all the posts & pages at once that’s fine too. You can filter the content by post types. Also you can switch to “Published” or “Drafts” list to see only that posts.
You can choose everything on list by click on the checkbox left to the title. We’ll filter list to show all the pages not posts.
If you select the posts by click on check box to left of their title you would not see any warning before conversion. Once all the content is converted. You’ll see “Converted” listed next to it.
