What you will need to use Google optimize?
To Use Google optimize you need Google analytics account. Also you’ll need to place analytics code on your site as well as here we recommend using MonsterInsights which is best analytics plugin for WordPress sites.
It comes with Google optimize addon which make it easy to run split test. You need to have MonsterInsights Pro plan to access this addon.
Setting up Google Optimize Account:-
Initially visit Google optimize website and click on Get Started button. There you’ll prompt to where you want to receive google newsletters or not. After that you need to select a option you want and click on Next.
Now choose specific settings for your Google optimize account. We suggest using recommended settings.
How to Add Google Optimize in WordPress?
Select your country from drop down menu so you can see correct service terms agreement. When you click to read them it will open in new tab so will not lose your place during setup. Checkboxes will also change with selected country.
Once you’re ready then check the boxes and then finished button will turn blue. Tap on it and google will setup your Google optimize account.
As its part, Google create your first container. This will consist of experiments (tests and personalization’s) and it should be connected to your site.
Although, you’re prompted to create first experiment, instead we suggest linking Google analytics.
Linking Google Optimize and Google Analytics:-
On the right side, you’ll see option to link to Google analytics step. Click below there on Link Property.
- Next screen, Choose the website you want to link with it. If you can’t see the website in list, then it may be due to you’ve not setting it up in Google analytics.
- Once you’ve click on website link, you’ll see popup. If you’re using MonsterInsights then click on “Skip for now”. Otherwise you need to view and copy the snippet code.
Add Google Optimize to WordPress site:
Easiest way to add Google optimize is MonsterInsights in WordPress. After installation & activate MonsterInsights visit Insights>> Addons page. Here find the Google Optimize Addon and click on install. It will automatically get activated.
Once addon get activated, Go to Insights >> Settings >> Conversions to configure settings. Enter Google Optimize container ID here. You will find this id in your Google optimize account dashboard. Also you can find it in container setup panel while setting up container.
Simply enter this ID in MonsterInsights and you’re site will connected to Google Optimize. Now as you have connected you can run A/B test and experiments on your site.
